Ever wonder what really goes on behind the scenes to keep Rogers County ticking? Well, the class of 2025 from Leadership Rogers County got the VIP tour, and let us tell you, it was a day packed with eye-opening experiences and a whole lot of appreciation for the folks who make it all happen!
The day kicked off bright and early at the Claremore Police Department. Chief Cox was there to greet everyone, sharing stories and insights into what it's like to be on the front lines, keeping our community safe. After hearing from the Chief, the group got to explore the station, getting a real feel for the daily hustle and bustle of police work.
Next up, it was a visit to the Rogers County Jail. It's certainly a more serious side of things, but it gave everyone a crucial understanding of the correctional system and the important work done there every single day.
Next was a panel of local leaders. Imagine getting to pick the brains of Judge Pazzo, District Attorney Matt Ballard, Sheriff Scott Walton, and Rogers County Treasurer Jason Carini all in one room! It was a fantastic way to see how all these different parts of our local government connect and work together.
After a good lunch break, things got a little more exciting with a demo from the Sheriff's K9 officer! This highly trained dog is seriously impressive, and it was amazing to see him in action, showcasing his incredible skills.
The grand finale for the day was a stop at the local 911 Center. Talk about a critical job! The team there showed everyone how they handle incoming emergency calls and coordinate responses. It was a powerful reminder of the incredible responsibility these unsung heroes carry, being the very first voice you hear in a crisis.

Leadership Rogers County is all about building strong leaders right here in our community, and days like these are key to understanding the vital services that support us all.
