The Leadership Rogers County team members attended an inspiring Education Day, showcasing outstanding programs, student achievements, and county wide collaborations that demonstrate the community’s commitment to excellence in learning, education and leadership.

The day began at Claremore Public School’s Roosa Elementary, where team members participated in the school’s signature “Rise and Shine” start of the school day. Parents are  invited to attend as students celebrate the Life Principle of the Month, Word of the Month, Quote of the Month, and a series of character recognitions. Roosa Elementary has proudly served as a Great Expectations school for 24 years, making it the longest-standing Great Expectations school in the nation.

Attendees then explored the district’s impressive Performing Arts opportunities, which serve students from across the entire community. The program’s talent and student work can be followed on Facebook at Robson Performing Arts HS.

The Leadership group also visited Rogers State University (RSU), where Dr. Sparling, Department Head of Criminal Justice and Cybersecurity, shared insights into RSU’s nationally recognized programs. RSU is ranked #8 regionally in the western United States and #1 in Oklahoma for its field. Students benefit from innovative partnerships, including a collaboration with Osage Hills 5th and 6th graders, who participate in an early pathway toward earning a drone pilot license.

The day concluded at Northeast Tech, where Superintendent Derek Beller and Assistant Director Alex Schmidt guided a tour of the school’s cutting-edge career programs. Participants learned about the History of the District and explored hands-on training areas including Cosmetology, Heavy Equipment, and Electrical Technology, all designed to prepare students for high-demand career paths.

Education Day emphasized the power of collaboration between schools, higher education, and community partners, showcasing the investment being made to prepare students for future success.
